Mental Health & Learning Difficulties Support

In a modern society that has a severe lack of mental health and learning difficulty support EMCAS is here to lend hand!

Working in partnerships with our local authority and social services EMCAS can provide support to individuals with complex needs, developmental disorders, learning disabilities and mental health disorders.

We always take an Individual focused approach to supporting the person, placing them at the centre of all care planning and decisions that are made. we have extensive knowledge supporting people who lack capacity; to support best outcomes for the person we undertake capacity assessments and arrange best interest meetings with family/carers and relevant professionals. Here at EMCAS we have working knowledge of The Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and how these are used to support people who live in the local community. We are strong and firm believers of partnership working, fully involving the person, their families/carers and others who are important to them in all aspects of our care and interventions.

Our team will help in Supporting the person to utilise more effective behaviours to meet their needs using Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) interventions. We encourage and support people to lead an ‘ordinary’ life - undertaking meaningful activities and promoting independence. We encourage our service users to take positive risks, with the aim of increasing or enhancing their level of activity.

EMCAS can provide support workers in the community who have had training in Mental Health & Disability Awareness, Autism Awareness and have completed the nationally recognised Care Certificate. Our support workers are used to working with a wide range of patient groups and have excellent interpersonal skills.
